Why we wrote it
John and I wrote this book because we know that the SEN system too often feels like a battleground instead of a support system. It sets out, in plain language, what children and young people with special educational needs are legally entitled to, how the system is meant to work, and how to get out of the maze when it doesn’t.
Currently out of print
I have had constant enquiries about the book although it is currently out of print. The core advice is largely accurate and ready to help you. I have been eager to sit down and update it since I sold my practice in August 2023. However, the government has not yet given clear answers on what the upcoming SEN changes will be, and with the system still in a state of flux, updating it right now would be premature.
The original book still holds a wealth of accurate information to help you navigate the hurdles you face. We are keeping a close eye on the changes ahead so that we can bring you a fresh edition as soon as the dust settles. You deserve accurate facts as your shield and guide.
